The essential oil of the golden valerian (Patrinia scabiosaefolia) was examined for its chemical composition and bioactivity. The Chinese study reported that the extract demonstrated significant anti-tumor, anti-neuroinflammatory, and antioxidant activities.
The Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine supported this study, and its results were published in the Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine.
The researchers concluded that the essential oil of the golden valerian could be a promising source of bioactive substances that can stop the growth of cancer tumor, protect the brain from inflammation, and scavenge toxic free radicals.
